Touch screen pc’s are relatively new to the market so don’t feel put off if you feel as if you know nothing about them, many people don’t. With the help of our site, hopefully you can learn more about them and buy the touchscreen pc that’s perfect for you.
Firstly, I think it’s a good idea if you know why touchscreen personal computers can be better than other so called “normal” computers.
There are loads of improvements that touch screen pc’s have, but
here are the most important ones: Easier To Use – Although you might feel as if using a touch screen device as your main personal computer would be quite difficult, this usually isn’t the case. Once you get used to it you’ll wonder why you didn’t make the switch years ago.
I suppose it’s like when touchscreen mobile phones first came out, a lot of people thought
that they were too hard to use on a daily basis, but look at how
things have changed; now people can’t go without using their
touchscreen phones each day!
Multi-finger gestures play a big role in all touch screen devices;
one of the most well-known examples of this is with Apples iPhone.
It always the user to tell the device to do so many things, without
the need to press a couple of buttons on a keyboard and therefore
making the person have to remember lots of different combinations.
Space – With a touchscreen pc, there’s no need to need as much room
as you would with other personal computers. Think about it, you
won’t need any room for your keyboard since it’ll be on screen or
even any room to move around your mouse since you’ll just need your
fingers on your new touch screen pc.
Moving Made Easy – If you usually move your desktop pc from place to
place on a regular basis, you’ll know that it’s not an easy thing to
do. The main reason for this is since you need to carry around all
of the hardware such as keyboards and so on with you. However, with
a touch screen computer there’s no need to carry around that extra
weight which saves a lot of hassle.
After seeing these advantages, you might be wondering why these
types of computers aren’t as popular as other types of computers.
Nobody knows the exact answer, but a lot of people think that these
are the future of computing. Even Microsoft has recently said that
they believe that touch screen personal computers are the future of
computing, and we’ll soon see if they are correct. Nobody can
predict the future, but we can certainly predict it!
If you’re searching for a touch screen personal computer, you’ll
probably notice that there are a few different types of screens on
them. It’s extremely important that you know the differences between
the two before you buy a laptop or desktop computer that has a touch
screen. Here are the two most popular types of screens that you
should familiarise yourself with: Resistive Screen – To put it simply, these type of touch screens are basically screens which is pressure sensitive. In most cases, there are a couple of layers on the screen which allows the device to get an idea of how much pressure is being placed on the device.
The
device knows this by seeing how much air there is in between these
two layers, obviously the more pressure that’s applied to the screen
the less air there will be in between both of the layers. These
screens can be used with your finger or with a stylus, which is good
since you’ll have a bit of choice depending on which you prefer. Capacitive Screen – These are the type of touch screens that are most commonly used with mobile phone touch screens but they are also used with pc touch screens. Unlike resistive touch screens, you can only use a capacitive screen with your finger. A stylus will not work with any capacitive touch screen. As well as this, these types of touch screens are well-known to be not as accurate as resistive touch screens, but they are still very good.
Usually when a pc uses this type of screen, it’s just a layer of glass which is coated with a material which is see-through. This layer that is on top of the glass allows the computer to see if you have your finger on it, since your finger will make a tiny change in the electrical current that is on the screen.
If you’re interested in using multi-touch
gestures on your pc I’d recommend that you try to buy a computer
which has a capacitive touch screen since some applications will not
work with a resistive touch screen. When you’re looking at prices online of touch screen pc’s you’ll notice that they are more expensive than “normal” personal computers. Don’t be put off by this though; there are good reasons for it.
The main factor is that the raw materials that are needed to
make it are more expensive than other computers, and there isn’t as
much competition in the market at the moment but this will soon
change in the near future when they become more popular. So, why don’t you have a look around out site here on touchscreen-pc.co.uk and discover all of the best touch screen pc’s that are out right now.
